It’s time to start waking up for school

Early morning classes can be a drag, but sooner or later all students have to deal with the dreaded 8am class (or if your a night owl maybe even the 10am class). Waking up can be a challenge, but staying awake proves to be just as difficult as well. Whether you want it to be or not, early mornings are here. Try out as many of these tips as you like to have a great morning.

Start your morning of right

Wake up with a glass of lemon water

Personally, I always forget to hydrate during the day so starting my morning off with some H20 always helps me out. Make a big pitcher of some fruit infused water the night before for some yummy hydration.

Start a gratitude journal

Start your morning with some positive vibes. Grab a journal and write three things that your grateful for. Not only does it wake up your mind, but it’s also a great way to begin the day with some positive energy.

Have a filling breakfast

There is literally nothing worse than having your stomach growling in a lecture with 200 people. I repeat, nothing is worse. So do yourself a favour and have breakfast. Make some overnight oats or try one of these great recipes out from Is This Really My Life

I know, I know. I didn’t think meditation was for me either, but taking 5 minutes in the morning to clear your mind is a super useful way to destress. Also, there are a million apps for it so try one out and let me know how it goes!

Check your planner before you check your phone

Figure out what you have going on for the day and if you haven’t already, make a plan. Being productive right from the start of your day will set the tone for the rest of it. Also, don’t forget to pack it in your backpack! Take a look at this checklist to make sure you have everything you need.

Exercise in the morning

Get your blood pumping! I know it’s not always easy to get the motivation to get up, let alone workout in the morning but trust me that you’ll feel great afterwards. Plus, sneaking in a quick workout in the morning will save you time during the rest of your day!

Listen to a great playlist

Pick some songs and make a morning playlist to get you ready for the day. Whether it be some pump up jams or just some feel good music, sing along and get energized.
